Rico Parks
Rico Parks offer a variety of recreational opportunities for residents in Chattahoochee
Hills and visitors throughout Georgia. The photos below show the
Rico Park softball field and Rico Recreation Park behind City Hall.

A Welcome Sign |
 |
|
The welcome sign at Rico Park, like the park itself, is a
little roughhewn.
The
softball field was the vision of Mr. H.L. Loyd, a Rico
resident who thought that kids should have a place to
bat a ball around.
According to locals, the park is a great place for softball
practice but could benefit from a picnic shelter so kids
could have a shaded area to take a break.

A
Well-Kept Field |
|
If
Chattahoochee Hills gave prizes for "best kept field" Rico
Park would be a top contender.
During the transition
period when the City formed, residents Russell White and
David Sandman noticed grass growing in the field and
volunteered to tidy up.
Thanks to the ongoing
support of Mr. White's company Fairburn Farm Supplies, the
field never looked better. With future support from Buy Our
Parks Now!, we hope the City continues to use Fairburn Farm
Supplies for the Park's improvements.

A Dog Day |
 |
|
The Rico Recreation Park is the perfect place to walk the
family pooch during the Dog Days of summer.
Located behind the Rico Recreation Building, turned City
Hall, the park offers a soft-surface walking trail around
the athletic field, playground, and picnic shelter.
The park is also the becoming the "go to place" for City
Celebrations, such as the City Birthday Bash.

An
Historic Event |
|
When it came time for the City's Birthday Bash, there was
only one logical place for the historic celebration.
The Rico Recreation Park
behind City Hall provided the perfect backdrop for the fun
and activities.
Residents had plenty of room
to meander through the many exhibits before picking up a hot
dog and heading over to the picnic shelter where they
settled in to listen to music and enjoy the festivities.

A
'Low Falutin' Celebration |
 |
|
When it comes to City celebrations, there's nothing
high-falutin about Chattahoochee Hills.
The City Birthday Bash at the
Rico Recreation offers a blank canvas for the creative mind,
and the City Celebrations Committee came up with a befitting
stage for the event.
Mayor Don Hayes would agree,
as he proudly welcomed guests to the first annual
Chattahoochee Hills Birthday Bash.

A
Child's Play |
|
Think back to when you were a kid, and you'll remember that
nothing compared to playing outside with your friends.
The Rico Recreation Park provides plenty of open space for
kids to run off that excess energy.
And with the many recreation programs available in the
adjoining recreation building, there's something fun for
kids to do year round. |

A
Gathering Place |
 |
|
Have you ever noticed how friends find each other, even in a
crowd?
During the recent City Birthday Bash, church members from
Providence Baptist congregated around the picnic shelter at
the Rico Recreation Park.
The
park is the perfect gathering place for friends, kids,
families, and plain old (Chattahoochee Hills)
country folk. |
