Buy Our Parks Now! began as a discussion in the Chattahoochee Hills Civic Association's parks committee.

The Committee realized that the City could purchase parklands within its boundaries at a very low price -- $100/acre -- due to an offer made by the County to assist new Cities in purchasing their parklands. But as good as the offer sounded, Chattahoochee Hill Country could not afford to purchase and maintain the parklands. 

Concerned that the low-cost offer might not be available forever, and that a heavy tax increase might be required to purchase the parklands at fair market value once the City's population reached 5,000, the Committee met with the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy -- a locally-run nonprofit -- to plan a capital campaign.

The goal of Buy Our Parks Now! is to raise funds for the City of Chattahoochee Hill Country (Georgia) to purchase maintain, support, and improve its parklands.

It is our hope that everyone in the community contributes to the future of Chattahoochee Hill Country Parks and makes them a gift to the community.
